Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information NorthCal Works collects, how we use and share it, and the rights you have, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Information we collect
- Members (sign-up form): name, business name, trade, service area, email and phone.
- Customers (Post a job form): name, email, phone (optional), type of work, city or ZIP, job description, budget range and timing.
- Emails you send us: whatever you include.
- Jobs we find elsewhere: some jobs come from requests people posted publicly asking for help. From those we only use the job details and the contact method the person published in that request.
- Technical data: our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
How we use it
To match jobs with members, talk to customers about their jobs, run member accounts and billing, answer messages, and keep the site secure.
How we share it
- Customer job requests and contact details are shared with the member(s) matched to that job so they can reach the customer.
- Member contact details may be shared with a customer when we set up a job with that member.
- Service providers that run the site and email for us: Cloudflare (hosting), FormSubmit (delivers form submissions to our email) and Google (email). They may only use the data to provide their service.
- When required by law.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use cookies, tracking pixels or analytics tools.
How long we keep it
We keep job requests for up to 12 months after the job, and member information while the membership is active and for up to 24 months after it ends (longer only where needed for billing or legal records). You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use and share about you; get a copy of it; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; and not be treated differently for using these rights. Since we don't sell or share personal information for advertising, there's nothing to opt out of.
To make a request, email northcalworks@gmail.com from the email address you used with us, and say what you'd like (access, correction or deletion). We may ask a question to confirm it's you. We respond within 45 days. You can also use an authorized agent; we'll ask for proof of their authorization. If a job request you posted somewhere else ended up with us and you want it removed, email us and we'll delete it.
Children
Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Security
We use reputable providers and limit access to the people who need it, but no system is perfectly secure.

We'll post updates here with a new date.
